On Nov. 3, citizens of Centre County will have the opportunity to select a new sheriff for a four-year term. Having had the distinct honor of serving as your sheriff the past 24 years, I believe I can offer relevant, firsthand insight into who I believe is the best candidate.
Bryan Sampsel currently serves as a sergeant within the Centre County Sheriff’s Office. Clearly, he is the most qualified candidate. A 12-year veteran of the force, Sgt. Sampsel has an excellent understanding of daily operations, as well as the vision to continue shaping the relevance of the office of sheriff as we move further into the 21st century. He is a lifelong resident of Centre County who graduated from Bellefonte Area High School and attended Penn State. Additionally, he served six honorable years in the Army National Guard.
The Office of Sheriff of Centre County is a challenging one that demands insight, vision, professionalism and unconditional dedication to carrying out the duties prescribed by law. It is without reservation that I declare my support of Sampsel for the office of sheriff.
