I was appalled to observe that two players were ejected for targeting in both the Michigan/MSU game and the PSU/OSU game.
In each case the ejected players took what one commentator described as a “victory lap” around the stadiums, waving their arms to further incite the crowds. No additional penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, or the recently more popular “celebration” foul were imposed.
I have sent my concerns to the Big Ten Conference, but I expect there will be a very long wait for any reply. I am sure that the Big Ten will impose no additional suspensions or penalties for these absurd and narcissistic displays.
There has been little or no attention given to this egregious behavior by allegedly “student athletes.”
This is a sad display of inappropriate behavior and lack of sportsmanship.
I was equally dismayed about the lack of any media mention of these events.
