Sharon Jones submitted these drawings on behalf of Ellie and Riley Jones. Both are students at Corl Street Elementary School and wanted to share their feelings about the possibility of the school being closed or repurposed.

Jones explained that Ellie, a kindergartner, “drew a door with a green keyhole that is locked in order to keep people from closing the school. She wrote, ‘Please Don’t Close it!’ with teardrops coming down. The hand on the right side is waving back and forth as if to say ‘no no.’ ”

In the drawing by Riley, a first-grader, the moving van driving away has the school inside, Jones wrote.
