Choice, Diaz lift Quintana Roo over Dos Laredos 6-2

NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico (AP) -- Michael Choice homered and singled, driving in two runs as the Tigres de Quintana Roo topped the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos 6-2 on Wednesday. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Tigres and a five-game winning streak for the Tecolotes.

Frank Diaz homered and singled with two runs for Quintana Roo.

Up 3-2, the Tigres added to their lead in the third inning when Manuel Orduno hit a solo home run.

The Tigres later tacked on two runs in the eighth when Choice hit a sacrifice fly and Rolando Acosta hit an RBI single to secure the victory.

Quintana Roo right-hander Wilfredo Boscan (2-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on six hits over six innings. Opposing starter Cesilio Pimentel (1-2) took the loss in the Mexican League game after allowing four runs and nine hits over six innings.

Despite the loss, Dos Laredos is 4-1 against Quintana Roo this season.
