SPRING MILLS — The Penns Valley girls’ basketball team went on a big 16-2 run to start the second half and held off a strong Indian Valley fourth quarter to come away with a 44-41 victory on Friday.

Indian Valley outscored the Lady Rams 15-7 in the final quarter, taking advantage of 21 free-throw attempts for the Warriors down the stretch.

Ella Myer and Brittany LeVan each totaled 10 points to lead Penns Valley. Maria Andrews had eight rebounds to go along with her five points, Korey McCaffrey dished out six assists and LeVan had four steals.

Penns Valley (10-4) dropped an earlier game to Indian Valley (9-6) this season by just two points.

Bellefonte ousts Central

BELLEFONTE — Bellefonte held Central to just seven points combined over the second and third quarters Friday en route to the Lady Red Raider’s 51-31 win over Central.

Leading by five points after the first quarter, Bellefonte (11-2) outscored Central 15-3 in the second quarter and pulled away for good with an 11-4 advantage in the third.

Angie Proper led Bellefonte with 15 points and Lacee Port finished with eight.

Lewistown runs past P-O

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown led by 27 points after two quarters and never looked back in the Lady Panther’s 68-26 win over Philipsburg-Osceola on Friday.

Heather Wilson scored 25 points, including seven 3-pointers for Lewistown (12-2) and Dani Rhoades finished with 13 points.

Megan Yonushonis tallied 12 points for the Lady Mounties.

DuBois Christian tops CCCA

DUBOIS — DuBois Christian Academy put together solid second and third quarters to run away from Centre County Christian Academy 61-41 Friday.

Janelle Reichenbach led the Lady Bulldogs with 21 points.

Centre County Christian (1-6) hosts Huntingdon Christian Academy on Tuesday.

Boys’ basketball

P-O comes back strong

PHILIPSBURG — Philipsburg-Osceola took control early and used balanced scoring Friday night to defeat Mount Union 58-35 .

P-O (6-6) led 18-6 after one quarter and extended its halftime lead to 18 points.

J.D. Mason led the Mounties with 11 points, Dusty Golding had 10, Matt Curtis added nine and Jon Whitman and Luke Curtis chipped in eight apiece.

CCCA falls

DUBOIS — DuBois Central Christian jumped out to a 10-point first quarter lead and Centre County Christian Academy couldn’t recover in suffering a 44-33 road loss on Friday.

Skyler Ososkie led the Bulldogs (0-5) with a double-double of 11 points and 19 rebounds while also recording five blocks.
