Corey Cunningham had a big day at the plate, driving in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, then padding the lead in the seventh to give Pleasant Gap a 10-6 win over Milroy on Thursday.
Cunningham was 4-for-5, blasting a solo home run in the fifth inning as the Peppers rallied from a 4-2 deficit to open the frame. His RBI single in the sixth put Pleasant Gap ahead for good, with a Devin Alterio RBI fielder’s choice and an error bringing home two more runs. In the three-run seventh, Cunningham had the big blow with a two-run double.
Trey Berger and Jason Shawley each had a single and double and Tony Rider added two singled for the Peppers (4-11). Devin Alterio earned the win.
Evan Popo had a single and double while Dalton Long and Kyle Marker each doubled for Milroy.
