Bellefonte advanced to the second round of the District 5 11-12 All-Stars Tournament with a 10-4 win over Mifflin County on Sunday.
Bellefonte will play at Marion Walker on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Bellefonte survived three Mifflin County home runs thanks in large part to a powerful offense of its own. Mifflin County led 3-0 on two home runs when Bellefonte’s offense came alive in the bottom of the third. Bellefonte picked up the pace in the fifth, plating nine runs in the inning.
Cade Fortney, Kalen Shvenke, and Carter Funk all hit two singles apiece while Nicholas Fisher doubled for Bellefonte. Fisher, Ashton Wetzler, Shvenke, Funk and Andrew Arnold each had hits in the nine-run fifth.
