Centre County Baseball League: Spring Mills wins when batter beaned with bases loaded

Lewistown pitcher Shawn Heckert plunked Spring Mills’ Brady Waltz with the bases loaded on Wednesday as the Braves edged the Predators 6-5.

With the game tied at 5-5 enterting the bottom of the seventh, Cody Young doubled for the Braves (7-10) to begin the rally. With one out and Young on third base, the Predators then intentionally walked the next two batters to set up a force play, before Heckert hit Waltz for the walk-off win.

Ryan Keefer, Jim McClay and Mike Higgins each were multiple hitters for the Predators (6-9), while Young and George Conklin each had two hits for the Braves.

The two teams meet again tonight in Lewistown.
