Philipsburg continued it’s romp through the Centre County Baseball League by sweeping a doubleheader against the Clarence Mounties on Sunday.
The Pirates (18-0) smacked a combined 36 hits to plate 28 runs in both games, beating the Mounties 6-3 in Game 1 and 22-9 in Game 2. Philipsburg did most of its damage with the long ball. The Pirates combined for nine home runs in the two games with Tyler Good delivering a three-run shot in the top of the eighth to secure the Game 1 win.
Jon Schaffer belted three home runs on the afternoon while Matt McCamley, A.J. Robinson and Jordan Faretta also homered for the Pirates.
Ryan MacNamara had a triple and two homer runs in the second game for the Mounties (11-7). Brian Kochik, John Schall and Brad Kling also had three hits on the afternoon for the Mounties.
