Centre County Baseball League: Clarence edges Lemont as race for No. 2 seed heats up

Rain stopped them once and the Ducks coudn’t hold off the Clarence Mounties a second time.

Clarence (13-8) broke a tie — that had stood since Sunday after rain forced a postponement — with a two-run single by Ryan MacNamara in the top of the seventh to give the Mounties a 4-2 win on Wednesday. The win helped Clarence gain a half-game on the Ducks who still hold on to the No. 2 seed.

Brian Kochik hit a single and doubled for Clarence while Ben Sallade and Erik Kempton led Lemont (13-7) as Sallade doubled and Kempton turned in two hits.

Kochik got the win while Renny Parthemore suffered the loss.
