Centre County Baseball League: Howard rolls over Lewistown

The Predators couldn’t make home-field advantage work for them and lost to Howard, 9-1, in Game 1 of the best-of-five opening-round Centre County Baseball League series.

The series shifts to Howard on Tuesday, where the Predators will hope to dodge another sturdy pitching effort after Howard starter Brian Pelka pitched a complete game, scattered seven hits and struck out four.

Tyler Womer contributed from the plate for Howard, knocking in four runs on two hits. Travis Price added two singles for Howard. Ryan Keefer and Chris Drobnick led Lewistown with two hits apiece.
