Penn State’s Candace Agee has helped the U.S. national team advance out of pool play at the Under-19 World Championships this past week.
Agee, who rolled her ankle in the first game, had two points and two rebounds in a 103-26 win over Mali on Saturday to complete a 3-0 pool play record. She had two points, two rebounds and three blocks in a 113-47 win over Lithuania on Thursday. The U.S. also beat China 103-56.
The top-seeded U.S. next meets the Netherlands on Monday, Canada on Tuesday and France on Wednesday in the second round of the 16-team tournament. The top teams from that pool will move on to Friday’s quarterfinals. The tournament runs through July 28.
