Centre County Baseball League playoffs: Lemont eliminates Clarence, advances to finals

Lemont rolled out to a 7-0 lead in the second inning, which turned out to be enough to eliminate Clarence in Game 4 on Thursday night 12-8, and advance to the County League finals by taking the series 3-1.

The Ducks grabbed the lead with a six-run second, as Lemont took advantage of four Clarence walks with RBI singles from Scott Glass and Erik Kempton, a two-run double from Nick Carothers and two-run homer from Trey Nicosia.

Clarence battled back with six runs of its own in the bottom of the second behind RBI hits from Derek Jabco and John Schall, a two-run double from Mike Lutz, and an RBI hit-by-pitch from Dillon Schall.

In the second, the Ducks and Mounties combined for eight hits, five walks and two hit batters.

Lemont sealed the win with two runs in the sixth behind RBI hits from Wolanski and Matt Smith.
