The Penn State women’s volleyball team avenged its only Big Ten loss of the season Saturday night, sweeping Michigan State 25-14, 25-18, 25-20.
The No. 2 Nittany Lions (20-2, 11-1) dropped a four-set match to the Spartans to open the conference season, but have since won 11 straight matches. The Spartans (18-6, 7-5) had climbed into the top 10 but have since lost 5 of 6 matches.
Deja McClendon’s 14 kills and Ariel Scott’s 13 kills with .451 hitting as a team. Scott and Katie Slay each had four blocks, Dominique Gonzalez added 11 digs and Micha Hancock gave out 35 assists.
The Spartans were held to .182 hitting and were outblocked 8-3. Penn State also was held without a service aces in the match.
