No. 9 Penn State suffered its first conference loss as the Nittany Lions fell 1-0 in double overtime to Ohio State on Saturday.
The Buckeyes’ Danny Smith scored at the 107:48 mark, beating Nittany Lion goalie Andrew Wolverton to the far post at the top left of the net. Max Moller had the assist as the Buckeyes (5-6-5 overall, 1-2-2 Big Ten) got their first league win.
The Nittany Lions (11-4-1, 5-1-0) outshot Ohio State 27-12. Wolverton had two saves.
