Noah Perryman tossed a seven-hitter as the Bellefonte American Legion baseball team rallied for a 5-2 victory in its opening game in the Elkins Hillbilly Hardball Classic on Thursday.
The Bandits (5-5) trailed 2-1 before taking the lead with two runs in the top of the sixth. Adam Kuhn singled to lead off the inning and pinch-runner Zach Musser swiped second base. Ryan McElwee then ripped an RBI double and Anthony Motressor smacked a RBI single to give Bellefonte a 3-2 lead.
The Bandits tacked on two insurance runs in the seventh. Dave Keller walked, moved to second on a groundout and scored on Musser’s RBI single. Musser stole second and came home on McElwee’s RBI single.
Perryman walked one and struck out two.

Bellefonte faces two West Virginia teams on Friday. The Bandits take on Summerville at 4 p.m. and Berkely County at 9 p.m.
