Clint Hicks’ solo home run provided the difference as sixth-seeded Lemont topped No. 3 Clarence 5-3 in the opening round of the playoffs on Sunday.
The defending champion Ducks, 8-16 in the regular season, can eliminate the Mounties, 13-11 in the regular season, with a triumph at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at Spring Creek Park.
