It’s a battle between kickers at Beaver Stadium.
Penn State and Temple combined for eight punts and three field goals and the Nittany Lions lead the Owls 6-3 at halftime.
Sam Ficken hit a 50-yard field goal as time expired to give Penn State the lead. Meanwhile, Penn State’s defense held Temple to 49 total yards in the first half. Penn State’s offense didn’t fare much better.
The Nittany Lions managed 167 offensive yards but turned the ball over twice. Bill Belton lost the first fumble of the season by a Penn State running back and Christian Hackenberg was intercepted, pushing his season total to 13 picks.
Ficken hit a 29-yard field goal to start the scoring. Temple kicker Austin Jones converted on a 31-yard try.
The Owls will get the ball to start the second half.
