Bellefonte graduate Mitchell Port wrapped up his senior dual meet season by being named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week and sharing Wrestler of the Week honors in the Eastern Wrestling League.
Port finished his season with a 30-1 record by pinning West Virginia’s Mike Morales in 4:32 in their 141-pound bout. It was the second time this season Port pinned Morales, and was Port’s 13th fall this season. He is tied for 10th in all-time wins at Edinboro with 126 and is tied for ninth in falls with 35.
He is ranked second in the country at 141 pounds as Edinboro heads into the EWL tournament this weekend.

Liz Wortman (Bellefonte, Juniata) averages 2.3 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. Juniata finished its season 8-17.
Dennis Fisher (Bald Eagle Area, Juniata) averaged 3.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists as Juniata closed at 12-13.
Brittany Butterworth (BEA, Pitt-Greensburg) averages 5.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists to go with 32 steals and a block. Greensburg finished its season at 18-10.
Jenna Altomare (State College, Kutztown) averages 2.9 points and 1.9 rebounds. She has five assists and 10 steals. Kutztown (13-15) will play Bloomsburg (23-3) iin the PSAC quarterfinals Tuesday.
Alexis Frank (Bellefonte, PSU-Altoona) had a 1.1 scoring averages, seven rebounds, an assist and two steals. Altoona finished 11-16.
Bryan Sekunda (State College, Stony Brook) averages 3.7 points and 1.0 rebounds, has three blocks and seven steals. Stony Brook (21-10) is in the America East tournament beginning Wednesday.
Taylor Allison (State College, St. Francis) has a 1.0 scoring average, 15 rebounds, 13 assists and six steals. The Red Flash (5-23) closed its season Monday night.
Kaitlin Miller (BEA, PSU-Fayette) is averaging 8.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. Fayette (8-17) takes on the College of St. Joseph (Vt.) in a U.S.Collegiate Athletic Association Division II playoff game Thursday.
Kyle Kanaskie (State College, Truman State) averages 7.2 points and 2.8 rebounds to go with 37 assists and 21 steals. Truman is 20-9.
JB Holden (State College, PSU-Mont Alto) was fifth at 141 pounds at the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Mid-East Conference Championships on Saturday. He has an 8-7 record and will compete at the NCWA National Championships in Allen, Texas, beginning March 12.
Alex Hillsley (State College, Delaware) swam on the 800-yard freestyle relay team that placed fourth in the Colonial Athletic Association Championships in 6 minutes, 36.78 seconds. He also placed 11th in the consolation finals of the 200 individual medley in 1:50.47 and was on the third-place 200 freestyle relay team that had a time of 1:21.27.
Susanne Gingher (State College, James Madison) finished her career at the CAA Championships last week, finishing fifth in the 50 freestyle in 23.14, fourth in the 100 free in 50.36 and was on the winning 400 free relay team that finished in a meet-record 3:20.45
Track & field
Brice Beals (BEA, Lock Haven) was second in the weight throw in the PSAC Indoor Championships with a 57-foot, 8 1/2-inch effort. Lock Haven finished third in the meet.
Cory King (Penns Valley, Lock Haven) was fifth in the 60-yard dash in 7.07 seconds at the PSAC meet.
John Crowe (State College Susquehanna) placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run in the Landmark Conference meet with a time of 8:57.49.
Paul Crowe (State College, Susquehanna) was seventh in the 3,000 in 8:59.19.
Mike Marcinko (Philipsburg-Osceola, Shippensburg) is hitting .323 with nine runs scored, 10 hits, a double, three triples and seven RBIs. Ship is off to a 2-5 start.
Mark Curtis (P-O, Shippensburg) has a 9.53 ERA and an 0-1 record. In 11 1/3 innings he has allowed 12 hits and 15 runs, 12 earned, while walking 11 and striking out 14.
Calvin Sichler (State College, Shippensburg) is hitting .118 with a run scored and a double.
Sage Jenco (State College, Virginia Tech) is hitting .333 with three runs, a homer and two RBIs. The Hokies are 6-5.
Chelsea Rex (P-O, St. Francis) went 0-for-1 while playing right field in a 1-0 loss to Georgia in the Citrus Classic on Sunday. She has a hit and an RBI at the plate.
Taylor Parsons (BEA, St. Francis) is hitting .400 with six runs scored, eight hits, two doubles, a triple and seven RBIs while playing shortstop. St. Francis is 5-2, losing to Lehigh 3-2 and Georgia 1-0 over the weekend in the Citrus Classic.
