Campus Corner: Deardorff reaches Lebanon Valley all-time hits mark

Tessa Deardorff now shares the career hits record with her sister Katie at Lebanon Valley College.

Tessa, a Penns Valley graduate, singled in the opening game of a doubleheader with Messiah over the weekend for her 173rd hit while Katie, now an assistant coach at Lebanon Valley, looked on.

For the season, Tessa is hitting .367 and has nine runs scored, 18 singles, three RBIs and is 7-for-8 in stolen base attempts.

Lebanon Valley is 5-11.


Justin Taylor (Bald Eagle Area, California, Pa.) is 1-2 with a 4.95 ERA. In 29 2/3 innings he has allowed 41 hits and 19 runs, 16 earned, walked three and struck out 31. Cal is 12-13.

Drew Bryan (Philipsburg-Osceola, VMI) is hitting .278 with five hits, two doubles and an RBI. VMI is 9-16

Austin Mock (State College, Indiana, Pa.) has a .310 average with 18 runs scored, 26 hits, six doubles, five homers and 20 RBIs. IUP is 10-14.

Saige Jenco (State College, Virginia Tech) owns a .281 average with 19 runs scored, 38 hits, eight doubles, a triple, two homers and 11 RBIs. He is perfect in seven stolen base attempts. The Hokies are 17-16.

Bryce Greene (BEA, PSU-Altoona) has a .154 average with a run scored and two hits. He has one stolen base in one try. Altoona is 7-13.

Jarred Dailey (State College, (PSU-Altoona) is 0-1 with a 9.13 ERA. In 20 1/3 innings he has allowed 38 hits and 25 runs, 21 earned, walked seven and struck out 12.

Mike Marcinko (P-O, Shippensburg) leads Shippensburg in hitting with a .420 mark. He has scored 40 runs and has 47 hits, eight doubles, a triple, six homers and 22 RBIs. Shippensburg is 13-15.

Mark Curtis (P-O, Shippensburg) has a 2-3 record with a 6.08 ERA and one save. In 37 innings he has given up 44 hits and 33 runs, 25 earned, while walking 21 and striking out 36.

Trey Nicosia (State College, Wagner) is hitting .284. He has scored 13 runs and has 19 hits, six of them doubles, and four RBIs. Wagner is 8-10-1.

Brandon Quay (Bellefonte, Alderson-Broaddus) has a .319 average with 16 runs scored, 23 hits, seven doubles and 18 RBIs. A-B is 16-7.

Parker Watson (P-O, Lock Haven) is 1-1 with a 5.54 ERA. In 13 innings he has given up 17 hits, two walks and struck out 15. He has allowed nine runs, eight earned. Lock Haven is 9-16.


Lily Glunt (BEA, PSU-Altoona) is hitting .354 with 10 runs scored, 17 hits, four doubles, a triple and 11 RBIs. She is also 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts.

Kelly Chambers (BEA, PSU-Altoona) is hitting .410 with 16 runs, 25 hits, five doubles, five homers and 26 RBIs. Her totals in hits, homers and RBIs lead the team. She is also 3-for-3 in stolen base tries.

Raychel DeArmitt (Bellefonte, PSU-Altoona) is hitting .314 with six runs scored, 11 hits, four doubles and a triple. As a pitcher she is 8-3 with a 1.93 ERA. In 75 innings she has allowed 36 runs, 23 earned, walked 21 and struck out 55.

Clarissa Keller (Penns Valley, PSU-Altoona) is hitting .393 with 21 runs scored, 22 hits, eight doubles and 10 RBIs. She leads the team in runs scored and doubles. Altoona is 13-8.

Allison Simpson (BEA, PSU-Altoona) is hitting .286 with four runs scored, eight hits and six RBIs.

Ashley Struble (Penns Valley, PSU-Altoona) is hitting .278 with 10 runs scored, 1 hits, a double and four RBIs.

Jess McClenahan (Bellefonte, PSU-Altoona) is hitless in seven at-bats.

Kate Burge (P-O, PSU-Altoona) is hitting .300 with three runs scored, six hits, three doubles, a triple and four RBIs. In the circle she is 4-4 with a 4.63 ERA. In 39 1/3 innings she has allowed 52 hits and 41 runs, 26 earned, while walking 18 and striking out 26.

Chelsey Poorman (BEA, Lycoming) is hitting .304 with four runs scored and seven hits.

Shawna Risely (BEA, Lycoming) has a pair of hits, a double and three RBIs. Lycoming is 9-7.

Chelsea Rex (P-O, St. Francis) is 0-0 with a 1.74 ERA as a reliever. She has one save. In 10 1/3 innings she has allowed seven hits and a pair of runs, both earned, three walks and struck out 11. She’s hitting .222 with five runs scored, six hits, a double, a homer and three RBIs.

Taylor Parsons (BEA, St. Francis) leads the team in hitting with a .355 average. She has scored 21 runs and has 33 hits including 10 doubles and six triples and 15 RBIs. She’s also 5-for-6 in stolen bases. St. Francis is 20-8.

Hannah Cooper (Bellefonte, Central Connecticut State) is hitting .227 with three runs scored, 10 hits, three doubles and seven RBIs. Central Connecticut is 17-7.

Vanessa Cooper (Bellefonte, UMass-Lowell) is hitting .255 with four runs scored, 13 hits, two doubles, two homers and 13 RBIs. The River Hawks are 10-17.

Christina Tressler (Bellefonte, Clarion) is hitting .348 with three runs scored, 16 hits, six doubles and seven runs driven in. Clarion is 2-12.

Allie Baney (State College, Juniata) has scored a run, has one hit and one RBI. Juniata is 6-14.

Track & field

Brice Beals (BEA, Lock Haven) placed fifth in the hammer throw with a 165-foot, 7-inch throw and fifth in the discus with a throw of 149-05 at the Millersville Metrics over the weekend.

Corey King (Penns Valley, Lock Haven) placed 30th in the 100-meter dash in 11:24 seconds and 51st in the 200 in 22.82 at the Colonial Relays.

John Crowe (State College, Susquehanna) ran a 15:16.86 in the 5,000 at the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton.

Paul Crowe (State College, Susquehanna) was clocked in 15:36.80 in the 5,000 at the Sam Howell.

Molly Love (State College, UNC-Wilmington) was second in the pole vault with a personal best clearance of 11-5 3/4 at the Colonial Relays.

Chloe Schmidt (State College, Illinois) anchored the 4x800 relay team to a meet-record 8:52.06 at the Eastern Illinois Big Blue Classic. Illinois finished 17 seconds ahead of second-place EIU in the event.

Kyle Adams (State College, Bucknell) turned in a 4:08.50 in the 1,500 at the Colonial Relays.

Emma Cousins (State College, Bucknell) was on the fourth-place 4x1,500 relay team that had a time of 19:38.01 at the Colonial Relays. She also ran the 1,500, finishing 47th with a time of 4:47.61.

Emma Federinko (Penns Valley, Misericordia) finished 18th in the 5,000 at the York College Twilight Meet in 20:28.09.

Mikayla Paolini (Penns Valley, Centre) was sixth in the pole vault at 8-8 1/4 in the Centre Invitational.

Carolyn Darr (Penns Valley, Delaware) helped the 4x400 relay team finish seventh in 3:52.61 at the Colonial Relays. The Blue Hens were fourth as a team.
