County League Baseball: Pleasant Gap hands Clarence first loss

Pleasant Gap earned its first win of the season, and handed Clarence its first loss, with a 3-1 Peppers victory in the Centre County Baseball League on Thursday evening.

Tyler Lali cracked a solo home run to center field in the fourth inning, Kevin Tate crossed home plate on an error in the fifth and John Romine added an RBI double in the sixth to account for Pleasant Gap’s runs.

Kalen Gearhart singled in Justin Taylor for the Mounties’ lone run.

Dan Roan struck out four, walked one and gave up just five hits in the complete-game win for the Peppers (1-4), while Nick McGhee took the loss for Clarence (5-1).
