American Legion baseball: Bellefonte tops Clarence

Taylor Butts had two hits and drove in three runs to lead Bellefonte to an 8-5 win over Clarence in American Legion play Saturday.

With the teams tied 4-4, Bellefonte’s Ryan McElwee led off the top of the fifth inning with a triple. Butts followed with a double to give his team the lead. Butts’ two-run single in the sixth pushed Bellefonte ahead 8-4.

Adam Kuhn, Zach Musser and Nick Jabco each had two hits for Bellefonte.

McElwee pitched a complete game to earn the win, allowing five runs (two earned), striking out seven and walking five.

Trey Butterworth had a triple, Jordan Kobularcik doubled and Caleb Bell had two singles for Clarence.
