Drew Bryan singled and scored on Logan Smith’s ground out in the 10th inning to give Philipsburg a 3-2 win over Howard on Tuesday.
The Hawks led 1-0 heading into the top of the seventh, when the Pirates plated a pair of runs on a Cody Doran single. Howard answered when Travis Price singled and later scored on a Kyle Womer sacrifice fly to force extra innings.
The marathon game was a pitcher’s duel, with Parker Watson pitching nine innings, striking out three, walking one and allowing seven hits. Jake Belinda pitched the 10th inning for the save. Dylan Womer pitched all 10 innings for the Hawks, allowing just four hits and five walks while striking out seven.
