It was a tough way for Bellefonte’s American Legion baseball team to see its season end.
Davey Keller pitched a no-hitter, but the Bandits couldn’t muster any offense and an error brought in the only run as Clearfield beat Bellefonte 1-0 Sunday afternoon in a Central Penn League elimination game.
Keller struck out four and walked six in the no-hitter, but it was a hit batter that proved costly. Jon Trimpey was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning. He moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, stayed there on a ground out, then Ty Bender’s grounder was thrown away to bring Trimpey all the way home from second base.
Bellefonte (7-10-1), which earlier got a single and double from Alex Struble, went down in order in the top of the seventh to end the game.

Will Myers struck out five and walked one in the four-hit shutout for Clearfield (10-10), which faces Huntingdon on Monday in another elimination game.
The error that led to the run was Bellefonte’s lone miscue of the game. The Bandits otherwise played solid defense, with Darren Heeman making two stellar catches in left field to help preserve the no-hitter.
