Penns Valley earned a pair of elimination games Saturday, including a walk-off win in the ninth inning to beat Bald Eagle Area, in the VFW Teener State Tournament for 15-16 year-olds.
Lucas Sharer hit a ground ball to third base, and Keith Butts raced home. beating the throw to scored the game-winning run in the ninth. Butts had drawn a bases-loaded walk in the sixth to tie the game 3-3 and force the extra innings.
Butts also went the distance on the mound, striking out 11 while allowing seven hits. Ty Walker, the third BEA pitcher, took the loss.
BEA held an early 3-0 lead thanks to an RBI double from Jake Jozefick in the first and an RBI single from Kyle Gill in the third.

Sharer pitched a three-hit, complete-game shutout, striking out seven, as Penns Valley eliminated Philipsburg-Osceola 6-0 earlier Saturday.
Butts had an RBI single and Nate Gillespie drilled a two-run triple in the second inning to put Penns Valley ahead for good, Hunter Homan added a solo homer in the third inning and two more runs crossed in the seventh with the help of a Ryan Long sacrifice fly.
Penns Valley is back on the field for another elimination game against Altoona on Sunday.
