Allie Baney, former State College softball player now at Juniata, has been honored by the NFCA.
Baney, a junior infielder, received All-America Scholarship recognition for the Eagles for the 2014-15 academic year. To be selected, an athlete must have a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Baney is majoring in sports management. Juniata finished 8-28 a year ago. A total of 1,018 Division III athletes received the honor.
Kurt Walker (P-O, Shippensburg) had one tackle for loss for minus-one yard against Lock Haven Saturday. He has 11 tackles, six solo, for the season, including four and one-half tackles for loss for minus-17 yards, 2 1/2 sacks for minus-13 yards, one pass broken up, one pass defended and one quarterback hurry. Shippensburg is 4-2 after beating Lock Haven 44-34.
Curtis Matsko (P-O, Shippensburg) saw action in his second game of the season and recorded one assisted tackle against Lock Haven.
Alex Boumerhi (P-O, Lock Haven) kicked four PATs against Shippensburg. He is second on the team in scoring with four field goals and 11 PATs for 23 points. He also has one tackle. Lock Haven is 0-6.
