Seven total Penn State track and field athletes will head to Eugene, Ore. for the 2016 NCAA Championships from June 8-11.
Four athletes earned slots with qualifying performances on the final day of the NCAA East preliminary on Saturday.
Brian Leap qualified in the triple jump, Dannielle Gibson qualified for her second NCAA Championship meet in the triple jump, Brannon Kidder qualified in the 1,500-meter race and Tessa Barrett qualified in the 5,000-meter race.
“The exciting thing is that the athletes that we have advancing to the NCAA Championships all have a legitimate chance to be All-Americans and score points for us which is a great feeling,” said head coach John Gondak, in a release. “We’re going to be represented by a very talented crew of seven individuals in Eugene.”
