Pleasant Gap Peppers defeat Philipsburg

Pleasant Gap added a few insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held on in the seventh to defeat Philipsburg 6-2 in County League action on Wednesday.

Doubles by Tyler Lalli and Tyler James gave the Peppers a 2-0 advantage in the second inning, before an RBI double from Jesse Williams plated the Pirates’ first run of the game.

Even though Philipsburg had a run in the top of the sixth, Pleasant Gap tacked on one in the fifth and three in the sixth to leave no doubt.

On the hill for Pleasant Gap was Devin Alterio, who tossed a complete game. Snoop Ernest was the losing pitcher for Philipsburg.

Pleasant Gap hosts the Clarence Coyotes on Thursday.
