Pleasant Gap edges Clarence Coyotes in 10 innings

Tyler James scored on a throwing error in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift Pleasant Gap to a 2-1 win over the Clarence Coyotes in Centre County Baseball League action Thursday night.

James pitched two innings of relief to earn the win.

Clarence’s Tyler Schall five hits and two runs in 10 innings in the loss. Pleasant Gap starting pitcher Steve Horlacher pitched eight innings and escaped bases-loaded jams in the second and seventh innings.

The Coyotes got on the board in the top of the eighth inning on a single by Schall.

James led off the bottom of the eighth with a single and later scored on Colin Burke’s single.

Pleasant Gap then won it the 10th after a throw to third base went into left field, allowing James to score.

The Peppers will take on the Clarence Mounties on the road at 2 p.m. Sunday.
