Penn State and SEC power Auburn are set for a first-ever regular-season meeting come the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

The games were announced in a joint statement by Penn State Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour and Auburn Director of Athletics Jay Jacobs.

“This is a great intersectional match-up and there will be significant interest from alumni, fans and students of both schools to be a part of the electric atmospheres on both campuses,” Barbour said in a release. “I am very appreciative of Jay Jacobs’ interest and efforts in making this home-and-home series a reality.”

The Tigers, the 2010 National Champion, will travel to Beaver Stadium on Sept. 18, 2021. The following season, the Nittany Lions will head south to Jordan-Hare Stadium on Sept. 17, 2022.

The teams split their previous meetings, which both came in bowl games. Penn State won 43-14 to capture the 1996 Outback Bowl, while Auburn took the 2003 Capital One Bowl with a 13-9 win.
