Pleasant Gap rolls over Spring Mills in Centre County League playoff game

The Pleasant Gap Peppers came out of the Centre County League playoff gates hard on Sunday afternoon, with a 9-1 win over Spring Mills in the first of a three-game series.

Spring Mills scored its lone run in the second inning for a lead that was quickly erased in the bottom half of the frame after the Peppers plated a runner on an error.

Pleasant Gap scored another run in the fourth, then blew the game open with three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth. Pitcher Dan Roan earned the win and didn’t let a batter reach base after the second inning. He gave up three hits throughout.

Spring Mills will try to even the series at home against the Peppers at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
