Penn State golf reaches semifinals at Big Ten Match Play Championship
Fifth-seeded Penn State beat fourth-seeded Purdue 3.5-2.5 in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Match Play Championship on Friday at Hammock Beach Resort.
Charles Huntzinger, Cole Miller and JD Hughes each earned wins for the Nittany Lions against the Boilermakers. Penn State’s Christian Elliott and Purdue’s Fernando Barco halved their match.
The Nittany Lions will face eighth-seeded Iowa in their first-ever appearance in the semifinals at 7 a.m. Saturday.
