Penn State

Penn State reaches semifinals

Penn State improved to 9-0 and advanced to Saturday's Virginia Duals semifinals with a 37-12 victory over Edinboro. The meet featured a college wrestling rarity: no bouts decided by decision.

The Nittany Lions made one lineup change as James Vollrath replaced Jake Kemerer at 165. Philipsburg-Osceola graduate Mike Horton made the trip but didn't wrestle for the Fighting Scots. Edinboro coach Tim Flynn is redshirting Bellefonte graduate Mitchell Port and Tyrone graduate A.J. Schopp.

The Nittany Lions will wrestle Kent State at 2 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals. Penn State leads the all-time series 6-0. Penn State defeated Kent State 22-13 in last year's quarterfinals.
