Eight Eagles earn pre-seeds

Six Bald Eagle Area wrestlers received pre-seeds for the two-day Escape the Rock Tournament, which begins Friday at Council Rock South.

The tournament is quickly developing into one of the state's best, and Central Mountain, Clearfield, Line Mountain, Bethlehem Catholic, Council Rock South, Council Rock North, Parkland, Colonial Forge (Va.), Paulsboro (N.J.) and Camden Catholic (N.J.) are among the other quality programs in the 32-team field.

BEA's pre-seeded wrestlers include: Coleman Hoffman (seventh, 160), Nate Sharkey (sixth, 215), James Grieb (seventh, 285), Justin Giedroc (eighth, 125), Matt Dillon (eighth, 130), Kyle Granite (ninth, 145), Travis Giedroc (10th, 103) and Jake Taylor (10th, 171).

BEA finished third at the Top Hat Tournament and 10th at the Manheim Tournament earlier this season. Jake Taylor won titles at both tournaments, suggesting he might be the most dangerous 10th seed in the tournament. Taylor, a sophomore, is 11-0 with six pins.
