Penn State’s most coveted winter ticket doesn't involve basketball.
Assistant athletic director Jan Bortner, who oversees the wrestling program, said it took just minutes to sell the remaining standing-room-only tickets for the Jan. 30 dual meet against Iowa. A line formed inside the Bryce Jordan Center lobby at 10 a.m. today to purchase the tickets, which allow fans to stand along the Rec Hall track.
The athletic department announced last week all 6,000 of Rec Hall’s seats had been sold. Rec Hall’s listed capacity is 6,500.
Moving the meet to the Bryce Jordan Center isn’t an option because the women’s basketball team plays host to Ohio State the same afternoon.

The meet might begin resembling other marquee sporting events with fans buying and selling tickets online.
No tickets were available on StubHub as of Monday night. But several fans seeking tickets have posted “wanted” listings on Craigslist.
Tickets remain available for Penn State’s other three home meets: Jan. 21 vs. Pitt; Feb. 11 vs. Illinois; and Feb. 18 vs. Wisconsin.
