Former Spikes off to hot starts

A look at some former State College Spikes who have started 2011 fast. We're excluding pitchers because not much can be gleaned from one start or a few relief appearances.

Triple-A Indianapolis.Chase D'Arnaud is hitting .381 with only one strikeout through six games. Matt Hague is hitting .348. The Indians are 1-5.

Double-A AltoonaJeremy Farrell is hitting .350 with one homer and seven RBIs. More importantly, the injury-prone corner infielder is healthy. The Curve are 2-3 and play their home opener Thursday against Richmond.

High-A BradentonAaron Baker is hitting .400 with four walks and one strikeout. David Rubinstein is hitting .400 with one homer and four RBIs. Cole White, whose military obligations forced him to miss the equivalent of two seasons, is hitting .250 in two games. The Marauders are 3-2.

Low-A West Virginia Andy Vasquez is hitting .600. Matt Curry is hitting .455 with a homer and four RBIs. The Gary Robinson-led Power are 2-2.
