Notes: The Pittsburgh Pirates activated Alex Fuselier (21st round, Louisiana-Lafayette), Chris Lashmet (33rd, Northwestern) and right-hander Mike Jefferson (22nd, Louisiana Tech) today and released first baseman Michaelangel Trinidad. The moves are the team’s first since opening day. Trinidad doubled in his final at-bat Tuesday. Fuselier led the Sun Belt Conference with 12 stolen bases, Lashmet hit .353 with 16 doubles and Jefferson went 6-4 with a 3.56 ERA this past season. Seth Bynum is on a Triple-A rehabilitation assignment for Auburn. Bynum has played for six different teams in an eight-year professional career. He is 3-for-8 during the series. The Doubledays are affiliated with the Washington Nationals. Their top prospect is catcher Adrian Nieto, a fifth-round draft pick in 2008.
