Pitching matchup: SC -- Jordan Cooper (0-1, 16.87); SI -- Richard Martinez (0-0, 5.09)Notes: The Yankees have opened a substantial gap in the NcMamara Division, holding a six-game lead over Hudson Valley. They haven’t lost two straight games this season. The Yankees’ pitching staff allows less than three earned runs per game. The Spikes won their second straight game Monday, defeating Batavia 7-6 on Justin Bencsko’s ninth-inning homer. Both victories came at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spikes are 1-12 on the road, collecting their only win June 24 at Jamestown. Cooper, a 23rd-round draft pick from Kentucky, is making his second professional start. He allowed five hits, five earned runs and three walks last Thursday at Batavia. The Spikes are 4-11 all-time against the Yankees.
