Notes: Midway through the season, it appeared these teams would easily find themselves in the New York-Penn League’s cellar by Sept. 4. Both teams have played since the halfway point. The Spikes are 9-4 and return home after winning two straight in Jamestown. The IronBirds have won five straight games. Aberdeen’s streak started with a 1-0, 11-inning victory at Lowell on Aug. 3. The IronBirds own the league’s worst record, but they are just four games behind 10th-place Connecticut. The Spikes trail Connecticut by 2 ½ games. Mychal Givens and Connor Narron have appeared in 49 or Aberdeen’s 41 games. Narron is the son of Milwaukee Brewers bench coach Jerry Narron.
