Notes: This is the Spikes first home game since the New York-Penn League All-Star game. They return after a difficult six-game roadtrip where they went 2-4. They won the first and last games of the trip. Nos. 3 and 4 hitters Wes Freeman and Alex Dickerson went a combined 6-for-10 with three doubles and two RBIs during Monday’s 6-1 victory at Auburn. Samuel Gonzalez (.302), Freeman (.298) and Dickerson (.284) are competing for the team batting average title. Five Spikes are hitting below .200, resulting in a .228 batting average. The team is hitting .213 in its last 10 games. The Spikes had seven hits and four runs against Neil earlier this month. Neil has lasted six innings or more in six of his 12 starts this year.
