Penn State lost another assistant wrestling coach Thursday as Troy Letters informed the team he has agreed to join Matt Dernlan’s staff at Clarion.
Letters, a NCAA champion at Lehigh, spent three seasons on the Nittany Lions’ staff. He worked closely with the program’s middleweights, a group that included 2011 NCAA finalists Frank Molinaro and David Taylor.
Letters will be Dernlan‘s top assistant at Clarion. Dernlan left his job as Penn State’s director of operations in July to become the Golden Eagles’ head coach. Letters called Dernlan one of his “best friends” during an interview with the Centre Daily Times on Thursday afternoon.
