Mississippi State completed a weekend sweep by pounding Penn State pitching for the third consecutive game with a 10-2 triumph in five innings.
The Bulldogs (13-1) had 29 runs, with at least nine, in all three victories against Penn State (6-7). The Nittany Lions’ three pitchers each gave up at least three earned runs on Sunday. Leading 4-2, the Bulldogs scored six runs in the fourth.
Lexi Knief had two hits and scored a run for the Nittany Lions. Kristina Brackpool and Mia Monopoli each drove in a run.
Penn State returns to action Friday against Fordham and Missouri in the Citrus Classic in Orlando, Fla.
