Penn State student-athletes did well in the classroom, with nearly 80 percent posting a 3.0 or higher GPA during the summer semester.
The summer session saw 320 of the 413 Penn State team members on campus post a 3.0 or better, according to Russ Mushinsky, Director of the Morgan Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes. That list includes 171 student-athletes, or 41.4 percent, who had a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
It produced combined GPA by the university’s 31 varsity teams of 3.15.
