Penn State women’s lacrosse midfielder Madison Carter has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season, according to a release from the athletic department.
Carter helped the Nittany Lions finish the week 1-1 with a loss to Cornell and a win over Big Ten opponent Michigan, and scored five points on four goals alongside an assist.
She also pulled down nine draw controls, two ground balls and caused three turnovers.
The freshman, who hails from Davidsville, Md., has scored in 13 of 14 games this season and is second on the team with 34 goals, which, according to the athletic department, is the most by a Penn State rookie since 2012.

The regular-season will conclude on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. against top-ranked and defending champion Maryland on Big Ten Network and BTN2Go.
