Penn State earned its fifth conference series win after an 11-3 victory over Iowa on Sunday.
The Nittany Lions (26-18, 13-4 Big Ten) needed only six innings to get the job done, recording their 22nd game with 10 hits or more this season. Of Penn State’s 14 hits, Alyssa VanDerveer had three, while Erin Pond, Lexi Knief, Mollie Sorenson and Reina Furuya all had two each.
Pond had two RBIs and scored two runs, and VanDerveer had an RBI and crossed home twice.
In the circle, Madison Seifert notched her 10th win of the year. She threw three innings in relief after starter Marlaina Laubach went three innings.
Penn State returns home for the remainder of the season, with Saint Francis visiting for a Wednesday doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m.
