Penn State soccer, field hockey on BTN slate

The Big Ten Network will feature at least eight combined Penn State women’s soccer, men’s soccer and field hockey matches this fall, the conference announced Wednesday.

The women’s soccer team will begin its 2016 season — an national title defense — on BTN against West Virginia on Aug. 19. The Nittany Lions defeated the Mountaineers 2-0 on Nov. 28, 2015, to advance to the College Cup.

Two more games — Sept. 16 at Minnesota, and Oct. 13 at home against Rutgers — will be aired by the conference network.

For the men’s soccer team, it’ll be featured on BTN three times: home against Wisconsin on Sept. 23, on the road at Michigan on Oct. 2, and at Jeffrey Field against Akron on Oct. 18.

The field hockey squad have a pair of games on BTN — at Michigan on Sept. 25, and at home against Maryland on Oct. 16.
