Penn State’s season opens Feb. 14, and road trips to Florida and California are included in the Nittany Lions schedule released Monday.
The slate begins with a four-game series at Gardner-Webb in North Carolina on Feb. 14. The following weekend the Nittany Lions travel to South Florida for three games beginning Feb. 21, and then to Mount St. Marys for a three-game set begining March 1. A trip to California for spring break begins March 7, with stops at St. Marys, Fresno State and Santa Clara.
The home opener is scheduled for March 18-19 against NYIT, with a pair of doubleheaders against Bucknell, at home March 22 and in Lewisburg on March 23.
The Big Ten slate begins March 28-30 with a visit from Northwestern, and other conference games against Illinois (April 18-20), Indiana (May 9-11) and Michigan State (May 15-17) follow. Big Ten road games include Purdue (April 4-6), Ohio State (April 11-13), Minnesota (April 25-27) and Nebraska (May 2-4).

The non-conference schedule later in the spring also includes home games with Youngstown State, West Virginia and Kent State and trips to Kent State and Villanova.
