Big nights from Lindsey Spann, Teniya Paige lead Lady Lions over Akron

Lindsey Spann and Teniya Paige each eclipsed the 20 point mark on Wednesday to lead Penn State over Akron 84-71 at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Paige had a game-high 23 points as Spann added 21. Page was 5of 9 from behind the arc and Spann shot 50 percent from the field.

Kaliyah Mitchell had a double-double for the Lady Lions with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Penn State scored 29 points off of 16 Zips’ turnovers.

Four players in double figures didn’t help Akron. Hannah Plybon led the way with 22 points with Greta Burry (10), Alex Ricketts (14) and Megan Sefick (11) also had double-digit scoring.

The Lady Lions hit the court again on Sunday when it hosts powerhouse Tenneesee at 5 p.m.
