With Burroughs’ departure, head coach Patrick Chambers loses a strong link to Philadelphia, a city he’s stated he wants to recruit heavily.
Burroughs was a high school teammate of Chambers at Philadelphia’s Episcopal Academy, where both played for legendary coach Dan Dougherty.
As Penn State’s associate head coach, Burroughs oversaw the program’s day-to-day operations and coordinated recruiting and official visits.

He also served as an assistant to current Villanova head coach Jay Wright when Wright was at Hofstra.
Jeff Bower, Marist’s head coach, announced the hiring this week.
