Penn State basketball: Wisniewski earns scholarship for senior season

Penn State’s Alan Wisniewski has earned his way to a scholarship for his final season with the Penn State men’s basketball team after joining the Nittany Lions as a walk-on.

In his first two seasons, Wisniewski appeared in 18 games, including 12 last year.

The senior forward from Sterling Heights, Mich., posted a season-high 17 minutes at Nebraska on Feb. 9, scoring six points and grabbing eight rebounds.

“Alan works tremendously hard and his teammates respect him for the attitude he brings to our locker room,” coach Patrick Chambers said. “He has developed into a leader of our team. We are happy to be able to recognize his dedication with a scholarship for the upcoming season.”
